Community Art Painting
Presented by Eric Gold
Saturday, September 30th
In addition to Our Harvest Dinner
Nooney Farm- 22 Stevenson Rd, Kittery
Eric will be joining us at this year's Harvest Dinner. Together we will create a community art project that will reflect the beauty of Nooney Farm while bringing awareness to the important work being done at the farm to build community. He says "my work addresses complex societal issues by painting the subject as a community in a highly accessible way. Painting together fosters dialogue and connection by creating a shared reflective space. A space where participants are able to express themselves individually while maintaining a place in the collective, all under a common theme of awareness."
About the artist
Eric Gold is an artist whose work explores collective consciousness in populations through the creation of art and community. Over the past ten years, Gold has led collaborative paintings with thousands of people across the US and Canada. All of his community painting events have been free to the public and inclusive to people of all backgrounds, abilities and ages. The evolution of his technique using 100 small pieces sparked the exploration of co-creating portraits. He began facilitating community paintings as a means to engage people and elevate awareness.

Mixed Media Boxes
Presented by Betsy Page Wish
Thursday, November 2nd 10-1:00
Nooney Farm, 22 Stevenson Rd Kittery
Participants in this workshop will use a variety of papers and ephemera to create nature themed boxes. 4 x 4 x 2” boxes will be provided, along with the materials needed for this activity. We will be incorporating dried flowers, seed packets, and a variety of objects to design our boxes.
About the presenter
Betsy taught elementary school art for 25 years prior to moving to Kittery. While in her studio space in the Brush Art Gallery in Lowell, MA., she painted, later experimenting with mixed mediums. After moving to Kittery 16 years ago, spending much of her time on the water, she started photographing the local lobstermen as well as the wildlife on the Seacoast. Most recently she has been incorporating recycled materials to make whimsical sculptures of lobstermen.
Betsy says she feel fortunate to live in an area where there are so many opportunities to take advantage of the outdoors and do what our moms always encouraged us to do; “Go outside and play!”
