Part of our mission at Kittery Land Trust is to build community. To achieve this goal, we offer a variety of educational and enrichment programs to our community. These programs are free to ensure they're accessible for all. If you would like to join us in building our community, please consider becoming a member.
Muddy Boots Club Winter Session
When: Every Wednesday, January 15th- February 12th
Time: 9:30 -10:30 am
Where: Nooney Farm, 22 Stevenson Rd, Kittery
Cost: Free! All are welcome.
Space is limited registration is required.
Free preschool program for children 5 and under and their caregivers. Join KLT staff at Nooney Farm for child-led exploration to uncover your curiosities about the natural world. We will explore the farm, the wetlands and the new trails in the upland forest. This is a rain or shine event please plan accordingly with comfortable shoes and clothing. Bring water, hats, mittens, and snacks.
If you would like to help us grow this program, please consider making a suggested donation of $5/class or $20/for all five.

Flock Together with the Kittery Land Trust for the Great Backyard Bird Count! Join KLT’s Education Coordinator, Alice Carey, and retired Naturalist Deb Callahan, at Nooney Farm to participate in this annual bird count that takes place worldwide. Our bird sightings will become part of the global database. Bring binoculars if you have them and dress for winter exploration.

Seed Swap with Piscataqua Seed Saving Project
When: Sunday, March 2nd Time: 1-3:00 PM Where: Nooney Farm, 22 Stevenson Rd Kittery, ME Are you eager for warmer weather? Create Spring inside by starting some seeds! Piscataqua Seed Project is holding the seed exchange, many seeds will be available to share as well as a seed saving demonstration. Attendees are encouraged to bring seeds from their own garden, or unused seeds they have purchased, to donate to the community seed bank. Seeds are free but donations to support the seed bank will be gladly accepted at the event. The Piscataqua Seed Project is a community-based organization whose mission is to empower people to grow food locally and save heirloom seeds for future generations. We encourage the sharing of skills and knowledge and believe that a healthy food system is critical for creating resilient communities and connecting us to our cultural heritage. |
Tree Grafting Workshop With Foraculture LLC
When: Thursday, March 27th
Time: 5-6:30 PM
Where: Nooney Farm, 22 Stevenson Rd Kittery, ME
We have partnered with Cornelius Murphy from Foraculture, LLC to bring you a hands-on Tree Grafting Workshop. Grafting is a method of combining compatible plants to form a new plant. In this workshop, participants will learn about the grafting process, and graft their own fruit tree to take home and plant this spring!
Foraculture, LLC is an ecological design practice steeped in the research and development of regenerative land management systems. They work across disciplines, in the areas of landscape architecture, planning, permaculture, regenerative agriculture, farm-to-school curriculum, and work-based education. Learn more about them here.
There is a $15 materials fee to cover rootstock. All supplies needed will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring any supplies they may have if they'd like to use them (pruners, grafting knives and/or utility knives, gloves)

Nooney Farm Plant Sale
When: Sunday May 18th, 2025 Where: Nooney Farm, 22 Stevenson Rd Kittery, ME Calling all Gardeners!!! Come shop for all your plant needs while supporting a great cause. Did you know last year the Kittery Land Trust grew and donated over 7,000lbs of fresh produce to help fight food insecurity in our community? There will be, vegetables, herbs, flowers and more for all your garden needs. |
Stewardship Volunteer Workdays
Do you ever wonder who takes care of the almost 1000 acres of land that KLT has conserved? Well, it's an amazing group of dedicated stewardship volunteers! Interested in helping out on the trails but don't know what that might look like? Join our stewardship team and get hands on experience where you will learn about corridor clearing, trail drainage, tool safety, signage, habitat restoration and more! These workdays are open to anyone who would like to learn about trail maintenance and invasive mitigation - no experience necessary!
